Easter Traditions

When you move away from home, it’s hard to realize that you won’t be home for every holiday, every birthday party, every family dinner. As I approached my first Easter away from home – and away from cheesy vegetables, sugar cookies, the traditional glazed ham and church with my family – I realized that many of my transplanted friends were in the same boat, so we began to create a few traditions of our own.

Easter with my friend family now entails a few critical ingredients: Cadbury mini eggs, an egg dyeing party, watching Easter Parade, and the baking of this delicious pastry for Easter morning.

What are your Easter traditions? Do you celebrate holidays with your friends?
